It is a matter of great pride and excitement for all the IT professionals, Students, Lecturers, Public Sector institution, Free and Open Source Companies and anyone who is related to the Information Technology directly or indirectly in Bangalore that the National Conference On Free Software is being held in Bangalore on March 20 and 21st which would be hosted by the Free Software Movement of Karnataka(FSMK). The conference aims to further the awareness on the technical and social aspects of Free Software in the country,among students,academia,IT professionals and among the general public.The conference will provide further momentum to the Free Software activities in the community and take the message to wider sections of people showcasing the opportunities in the Free Software arena. More than 2000 Professionals, Students, Academicians, Corporate Representatives, Govt Officials, People's Representatives etc. who would want to know the latest and greatest in the Free Software will attend the conference to spread the message further to the Indian Society.

The event would consist of a delegate session in which like minded groups from all parts of the country would take part and a slew of seminars on various subjects in which many eminent speakers from academia,media,administration and the state and Central ministries would be the speakers.

The growth of Free Software in the recent years in India has been amazing and it has enormously helped to groom a whole new generation of innovators, entrepreneurs, technologists and social activists.
